What it is.
One paragraph for the headline, one page for the long form.
SHORT (45 words). Echo Pandemic is a 2D stealth-action game where you play as Nyxie — a clever, curious, mischievous bat fighting off an alien invasion using echolocation. You see the world the way the bat does — graphite pulses on aged paper. Hunt the soldiers. Save the rafters. Do not see the dawn.
LONG (140 words). One person and a bat have been making this game in a converted woodshed for two years. Echo Pandemic is the result. You are the last bat in a small American town that has just been quietly invaded by something with very straight architecture. You cannot fly forever. You cannot be seen. But you can hear, and what you hear, the world draws — every pulse becomes a page in a journal nobody was supposed to find. Bite a soldier and you can taste what species they were before. Bite enough and you might find out why they came. Echo Pandemic is a stealth game, a sound design experiment, and a love letter to the things that hunt at night.
The pull-quote bits.
If you only have room for five lines of bullet points, these.
- Sonar rendering. The world is drawn in real time from your echo pulses — graphite on aged paper, edges first, mass second.
- Tasting blood.Bite damage is replaced by a 200ms audio signature per species. Three flavours, none of them are red.
- One night.Linear story, eight hours, no save-scumming. Sunrise is an antagonist.
- Hand-drawn everything.Every level is a notebook page. Every soldier is a sketch.
- Original score.47 minutes of brass, static, and field recordings from inside an actual rafters.
- One person.Made entirely by Conor McShane — and Nyxie the bat.

What people have said.
From festival showings, public playtests, and one very good email.
“The bat tastes the soldiers. That sentence shouldn’t work, but the game makes it the most affecting mechanic of the year.”
“I have never wanted to be a small mammal more in my life.”
“A stealth game where you have to learn to listen. Echo Pandemic earns its silence.”
“One developer, a woodshed, and the most distinctive art direction in indie this year.”
